ProgramU exists to help adults reprogram identity, release limiting patterns, and move toward the life they want. We take the privacy, safety, and wellbeing of our users seriously. 1. What ProgramU Is
ProgramU generates personalized AI audio sessions — subliminals, meditations, hypnosis, and EFT tapping — built around your specific identity vision. Think of it as a tool for becoming who you want to be, not just managing how you feel today.
ProgramU is a personal development and identity reprogramming app. Sessions are AI-generated audio across five formats:
- Subliminal — subconscious affirmation audio
- Meditation — guided audio meditations
- Hypnosis — guided hypnotherapy
- EFT Tapping — Emotional Freedom Technique sequences
- CollectiveU — pre-recorded group sessions
Plus two long-form programs:
- FutureU — identity intake and future-self visualization
- BeingU — a 90-day journaling and identity-integration program
Every session is generated for your specific intention. Nothing is one-size-fits-all.
2. What ProgramU Is Not
ProgramU is a personal development tool. It is not therapy, medical care, or a crisis service. If you're in crisis, please reach out to a real human professional.
ProgramU is not:
- A medical device, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional mental health care
- Therapy, or treatment for any mental health condition
- An emergency service — if you're in crisis, please use the resources at the bottom of this page
We've built ProgramU to be powerful for personal growth, but power and clinical care are different things. If what you're carrying needs clinical attention, please get it from a qualified professional. ProgramU can be part of a healthy practice — it's not a replacement for one.
3. Who ProgramU Is For
Adults 18 and older, U.S. residents only at this time. If you have a mental health diagnosis, talk to your provider before using deep hypnosis or meditation features.
ProgramU is designed for adults 18 years of age and older who reside in the United States. We verify age at onboarding via a date-of-birth gate. Anyone under 18 cannot use the app.
ProgramU is currently available only to U.S. residents. The crisis resources at the bottom of this page are U.S.-specific. International expansion is on our roadmap.
If you have:
- A diagnosed mental health condition
- An active treatment plan
- A history of dissociative episodes, seizures, or psychosis
…please consult your healthcare provider before using hypnosis or deep meditation features. These tools work with altered states and aren't appropriate for everyone.
4. Our Approach to Your Data
Your intake answers, journal entries, and session focus are sensitive. We treat them that way. We don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising, and we minimize what gets logged.
We treat the content you share with ProgramU — intake answers, journal entries, session focus, voice recordings — as sensitive. Specifically:
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256)
- We minimize logging of user content in our backend systems
- Personal content is filtered from error reports before they leave your device
- You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Privacy & Security
- We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with advertisers
- We do not use your data to train AI models

5. Safety Guardrails
We built specific protections into how the app works — age verification, crisis detection, content filtering, and content blocking. Here's what each one does.
Age Verification
A date-of-birth gate at onboarding enforces our 18+ requirement. Users under 18 are blocked from creating an account, and no data is saved for blocked attempts.
Crisis Keyword Detection
Throughout the app, we run free-text inputs through crisis keyword detection. If your input suggests you're considering self-harm, harm to others, or experiencing a mental health crisis:
- The content is never sent to our AI provider
- The content is never saved to your account
- You are gently redirected to crisis resources (see bottom of this page)
- Crisis-flagged inputs are logged anonymously for safety auditing — without your identity
This applies to FutureU intake, session focus inputs, BeingU journaling, and 7PM Lock-In entries.
AI Input Filter
Before any session is generated, your request passes through a content filter that blocks:
- Sexual or sexually suggestive content
- Content targeting specific named individuals (harassment, stalking, defamation)
- Crisis-level content that indicates immediate safety concerns
If your input is blocked, you are notified and your credit is refunded. No flagged input ever reaches our AI providers.
AI Output Filter
After a session is generated by the AI, the output passes through a second filter before being sent to voice synthesis. This catches anything that slipped past the input filter.
If the output is blocked, you are notified and your credit is refunded. No flagged output is ever shipped to voice synthesis or saved as audio.
No Generated Audio Ships from a Blocked Generation
Either filter can stop a session. Credits are refunded automatically when filtering blocks generation. You never receive content from a blocked attempt.
6. Hypnosis-Specific Safety
Hypnosis works with altered states and isn't appropriate in every context. Here's when not to use it.
ProgramU's hypnosis sessions are designed for belief-level identity reprogramming. They are not diagnostic, therapeutic, or curative for any condition.
Do Not Listen While Doing These Things
- Driving or operating machinery
- Using power tools or sharp objects
- Walking in traffic
- Anything that requires alertness, fast reflexes, or external attention
Hypnosis induces relaxation and altered focus. Use it in safe environments only.
Consult Your Provider First If…
- You have a history of dissociation, seizures, or psychosis
- You are in active treatment for a mental health condition
- You have a neurological condition that makes you sensitive to suggestion or relaxation techniques
We are not qualified to assess whether hypnosis is right for your specific situation. Your healthcare provider is.
What Happens at the End of a Session
Most ProgramU hypnosis sessions return you to full waking awareness at the end. The exception is sleep-type hypnosis sessions, which are designed to drift into sleep and do not include a full awakening sequence. Only use sleep hypnosis when you are in a safe environment, ready to sleep, and don't need to be alert afterwards.
7. AI-Generated Content
Our sessions are written by Anthropic Claude and voiced by Inworld AI. We don't send your name, email, or device info to either provider. AI can make mistakes, so use your own judgment.
How Sessions Are Made
ProgramU generates session content using:
- Anthropic Claude for script writing
- Inworld AI for voice synthesis
When you generate a session, only your session focus and the relevant context from your FutureU intake are transmitted. Specifically, the AI providers never receive:
- Your email address
- Your name or display name
- Your device identifiers
- Your payment information
- Your full session library or history
About AI Training
Anthropic does not train on our API requests by default, and we have not opted in. Inworld processes only what's needed to synthesize your audio.
About AI Accuracy
AI-generated content can contain errors, imperfections, or unintended language. ProgramU's filters catch obvious safety issues, but AI is not perfect. Use your own judgment when applying any session to your life. If something feels off, it probably is — skip the session and try a different one.
8. Voice Clone Safety
If you opt into Voice Clone, we treat your voice as biometric data. You consent before recording, you can delete it any time, and we never share or sell it.
Voice Clone is an optional feature that lets you generate sessions in your own voice.
Biometric Consent
Before recording your voice, ProgramU presents a dedicated biometric consent screen. Your consent is recorded with a timestamp in your account.
Limited Use
Your voice recordings are used solely to create a personalized voice model for your sessions. We do not:
- Sell or share your voice data with anyone except Inworld AI (the synthesis provider)
- Use your voice to train AI models
- Allow other users to access your voice clone
- Use your voice for any purpose beyond generating your own audio
Deletion
You can delete your voice clone at any time:
- In the app: Profile → Privacy & Security → Manage Voice Clone → Delete
- Via account deletion: Deleting your account also removes your voice model from Inworld AI and all voice recordings from our servers
9. Wealth and Abundance Content
Sessions about money use identity-level language ("I am abundant," etc.). They are not financial advice and they don't guarantee results.
ProgramU offers sessions focused on wealth, abundance, and financial mindset. These sessions use identity-level language about money — affirming beliefs about deserving, receiving, attracting wealth, and so on.
These are not:
- Financial advice
- Investment advice
- Predictions or guarantees of financial outcomes
Real financial change requires real financial action — earning, saving, investing, building skills, taking calculated risks. Identity work can support that change but cannot substitute for it.
If you are making significant financial decisions, please consult a qualified financial professional.
10. Identity Work Can Surface Difficult Material
Working with identity at a deep level can bring up old emotions or memories. If a session brings up something you can't handle alone, please pause and reach out.
Identity reprogramming is powerful work. Sometimes it surfaces material you didn't expect — old memories, emotions, beliefs, or patterns you weren't consciously aware of.
This is normal. It's also a sign to pause.
If a session brings up:
- Strong emotions you can't process alone
- Memories of trauma
- Persistent distress that lasts beyond the session
- Thoughts of self-harm or harming others
…please pause your ProgramU practice and reach out to a qualified mental health professional. The crisis resources at the bottom of this page are also available 24/7.
ProgramU is a tool for becoming. It is not a replacement for human support during difficult emotional work.
11. Reporting Safety Concerns
If something on ProgramU feels unsafe — content, behavior, or anything else — email us. We review every report.
If you encounter content, behavior, or experience on ProgramU that feels unsafe or wrong, please email safety@programu.app.
We review every report. Credible safety concerns are investigated and acted on, including:
- Content that bypassed our filters
- Suspected misuse of the platform
- Technical issues that affect user safety
- Other concerns we should know about
We won't always be able to share the outcome of an investigation, but we always read what you send us.
