You can permanently delete your ProgramU account and all associated data at any time — directly in the app, or by email. You do not need to keep the app installed to request deletion.

This page explains how to request deletion, what is erased, and how long it takes. It mirrors Sections 8 (Your Rights) and 9 (Data Retention) of our Privacy Policy.

How to Delete Your Account

There are two ways to permanently delete your account and all of your data:

In the app

Open ProgramU and go to Profile → Privacy & Security → Delete Account, then confirm. Your account and all associated data are permanently deleted.

By email

Email privacy@programu.app from the address associated with your account and request account deletion. We will verify your identity and process the deletion. No app install is required to request deletion this way.

What Gets Permanently Deleted

Deleting your account permanently erases:

  • Your account profile and all settings
  • All journal entries, intake responses, and session history
  • Your generated audio files (stored on Cloudflare R2)
  • Your voice clone model (deleted from Inworld AI)
  • Your RevenueCat subscriber record
  • Your Firebase Authentication account
  • Your user document and all subcollections (Firestore + Firebase Storage)

This action cannot be undone.

How Long It Takes

ProgramU wipes your account data (Firestore, Firebase Storage, and Cloudflare R2) at the time of the deletion request, typically within minutes. Most deletions complete within 24 hours. In rare cases, full deletion may take up to 30 days.

Some data may persist briefly afterward at our infrastructure providers, governed by their own retention policies and outside ProgramU's direct control — for example, automated cloud backups (up to ~35 days) and payment-processor transaction records kept for tax and audit compliance (typically 7 years). None of this retained data is used to contact you or re-identify you after deletion. Full detail is in Section 9 (Data Retention) of our Privacy Policy.
