Trust & Safety

Version 8 · Last Updated: October 15, 2026

ProgramU exists to help adults reprogram identity, release limiting patterns, and move toward the life they want. We take the privacy, safety, and wellbeing of our users seriously. ProgramU is operated by ProgramU LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. If something feels unsafe or wrong, reach out at support@programu.app.

1. What ProgramU Is

ProgramU is a personal development and identity reprogramming app. Sessions are AI-generated audio across four formats: • Subliminal — subconscious affirmation audio • Meditation — guided audio meditations • Hypnosis — guided hypnotherapy • EFT Tapping — Emotional Freedom Technique sequences Alongside the generated formats: • Return to Self — prebuilt audio resets • CollectiveU — scheduled group sessions, synchronized so the whole community experiences them together (you listen together; there is no chat, camera or microphone, and other participants never see you) Plus two long-form programs: • ReflectU — an AI conversation (voice + text) that reflects your own thoughts back to you to help you find clarity, grounded in your identity intake • BeingU — a 90-day journaling and identity-integration program Every generated session is created for your specific intention. Nothing is one-size-fits-all.

2. What ProgramU Is Not

ProgramU is a personal development tool. It is not therapy, medical care, or a crisis service. ProgramU is NOT: • A medical device, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional mental health care • Therapy, or treatment for any mental health condition • An emergency service If what you are carrying needs clinical attention, please get it from a qualified professional. ProgramU can be part of a healthy practice, not a replacement for one. If you are in crisis, please use the resources at the bottom of this page.

3. Who ProgramU Is For

ProgramU is designed for adults 18 years of age and older (or the age of majority where they live, if higher) who live in a country where ProgramU is available. We verify age at onboarding via a date-of-birth gate. Anyone under 18 cannot use the app. The crisis resources at the bottom of this page are listed by country. The Get Help screen in the app shows the lines for your country first where we have verified them, and a worldwide directory of free helplines everywhere else. If you have a diagnosed mental health condition, an active treatment plan, or a history of dissociative episodes, seizures, or psychosis, please consult your healthcare provider before using hypnosis or deep meditation features. These tools work with altered states and are not appropriate for everyone.

4. Our Approach to Your Data

We treat the content you share with ProgramU — intake answers, journal entries, session focus, voice recordings — as sensitive. Specifically: • All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256) • We minimize logging of user content in our backend systems • Personal content is filtered from error reports before they leave your device • You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Privacy & Security • We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with advertisers • We do not use your data to train AI models For full details on what we collect and how we handle it, see our Privacy Policy.

5. Safety Guardrails

We built specific protections into how the app works. Age Verification: A date-of-birth gate at onboarding enforces our 18+ requirement. Users under 18 are blocked from creating an account. Crisis Detection: Free-text inputs go through crisis detection in two layers: an instant English keyword check on your device, and an AI safety check that recognizes crisis language in any language. The AI check reads every ReflectU text message and voice-call transcript, and any other entry that is not clearly in English. Anthropic's Claude runs it (Google's Gemini is the backup), only to spot a crisis; the check stores nothing. If either layer suggests you are considering self-harm or are in crisis, nothing is generated from what you wrote, it is not saved to your account, and you are gently redirected to crisis resources for your country. Content expressing intent to harm others is declined the same way. On voice calls, Kaion can also pause the call itself when it hears a crisis in any language, and the app then shows your country's crisis lines. This applies to ReflectU intake, ReflectU Chat (every message you send and every assistant response), session focus inputs, BeingU journaling, and 7PM Identity Reflection entries. ReflectU Chat specifically uses a two-tier detection system. Active distress ("I want to die right now", "I have a plan") is hard-matched, the message is blocked, and you are routed to /get-help immediately. Historical reflection in past tense ("I felt like I wanted to die yesterday but I'm okay now") is detected as a soft signal — the conversation continues but ReflectU is instructed to hold space gently rather than escalate. This lets the mirror be useful for processing without nuking every reference to a past hard moment. AI Input Filter: Before any session is generated, your request passes through a content filter that blocks sexual content, content targeting specific named individuals, and crisis-level content. If your input is blocked, you are notified and your credit is refunded. Flagged input is never used to generate a session. AI Output Filter: After a session is generated by AI, the output passes through a second filter before being sent to voice synthesis. This catches anything that slipped past the input filter. No Generated Audio Ships from a Blocked Generation: Either filter can stop a session. Credits are refunded automatically when filtering blocks generation. You never receive content from a blocked attempt. Content Kaion and Sessions Won't Produce: For everyone, in every country, our filters block sexually explicit content and anything sexual involving minors, send self-harm and suicide-related messages to crisis support instead of the AI, and decline content expressing intent to harm others. These protections are always on; they are not settings you can turn off.

6. Session Safety

ProgramU sessions can produce states of relaxation, focus, and (in hypnosis sessions) trance. Use sessions only in safe environments. Do not listen to any ProgramU session while: • Driving or operating machinery • Using power tools or sharp objects • Exercising or doing anything requiring physical alertness • Walking in traffic, cooking on an active stove, supervising children near water • Performing any task that requires your full attention Hypnosis sessions: Hypnosis sessions induce a trance-like state. Use only when seated or lying down in a safe space. Hypnosis sessions are NOT diagnostic, therapeutic, or curative for any condition. Sleep hypnosis: Sleep hypnosis sessions are designed to guide you into sleep and do NOT include an awakening sequence. Only use sleep hypnosis when you are ready to sleep — do not use them in any situation where you may need to be alert afterwards. Consult your provider first if you have a history of: • Seizures or epilepsy • Severe dissociation • Psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia • Unresolved severe trauma where altered states could be destabilizing • Active mental health treatment where new modalities should be coordinated with your provider • Any neurological condition that makes you sensitive to suggestion or relaxation techniques You are responsible for choosing when and where to engage with sessions. ProgramU is not a substitute for professional medical, mental health, legal, or financial care.

7. AI-Generated Content

Every session, every BeingU phase teaching, every ReflectU output, and every refined focus you receive from ProgramU is AI-generated. Session audio is AI-generated speech, including audio made with your own cloned voice. We use carefully chosen AI models, system prompts, and content filters — but AI can produce errors, biases, and unintended outputs. The system is continuously refined as we learn what works and what doesn't. Subliminal sessions are transparent. Every affirmation in a subliminal session is one you chose, wrote or approved, the full text is available in the player, and you set the voice level yourself. Nothing is hidden from you and nothing is added that you did not ask for. If something feels off, it probably is. Skip the session. Try a different one. Your judgment is the final filter. We do not train AI models on your data. We do not use your journal entries, intake answers, session focus text, or voice recordings to train any model that we or any third party operates. What each AI provider receives: • Anthropic (text generation): your session focus and relevant intake context for session scripts, plus the transcript of a completed ReflectU conversation to write its post-call summary. Anthropic does not train on our API traffic. Anthropic does NOT power ReflectU's live conversation. • OpenAI (GPT-6 — ReflectU's live conversation): your ReflectU conversation turns (your message and the history) so it can generate ReflectU's reply, in both voice and text. Requests reach OpenAI through Inworld's routing infrastructure; if that model is unavailable, Inworld's router may automatically substitute a comparable third-party model. We do not use this data to train any model. • Google (Gemini — backup for the AI safety check): a message, only when our primary safety check is unavailable. We do not use this data to train any model. • Inworld (voice synthesis, plus ReflectU speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and AI routing): your generated session script for synthesis; and, for ReflectU voice calls, your spoken audio (to transcribe) and the reply text (to speak). Your live-call voice audio is sent to Inworld only to be transcribed — it is not used to make a voiceprint, not used to train models, and not retained by ProgramU. If you create a voice clone, your voice sample is transmitted to Inworld and not stored on ProgramU servers. No AI provider receives your email, name, device identifiers, payment information, or full session library.

8. Voice Clone Safety

Voice Clone is an optional feature that lets you generate subliminal sessions in your own voice. Biometric Consent: Before recording your voice, ProgramU presents a dedicated biometric consent screen. Your consent is recorded with a timestamp in your account. Limited Use: Your voice sample is used solely to create a personalized voice model for your subliminal sessions. We do not sell or share your voice data with anyone except Inworld AI (the synthesis provider), do not use your voice to train AI models, and do not allow other users to access your voice clone. Deletion: You can delete your voice clone at any time: • In the app: Profile → My Voice Clone → Delete • Via account deletion Either path permanently deletes your voice model from Inworld AI and clears the voice-model identifier from your ProgramU account. Your raw voice recording is never kept on ProgramU servers — it passes through a ProgramU server function on its way to Inworld (held in temporary storage for a few seconds only if it needs converting, then deleted) — so there is nothing further to remove.

9. Wealth and Abundance Content

ProgramU offers sessions focused on wealth, abundance, and financial mindset. These sessions use identity-level language about money — affirming beliefs about deserving, receiving, attracting wealth, and so on. These are NOT: • Financial advice • Investment advice • Predictions or guarantees of financial outcomes Real financial change requires real financial action — earning, saving, investing, building skills, taking calculated risks. Identity work can support that change but cannot substitute for it. If you are making significant financial decisions, please consult a qualified financial professional.

10. Identity Work Can Surface Difficult Material

Identity reprogramming is powerful work. Sometimes it surfaces material you did not expect — old memories, emotions, beliefs, or patterns you were not consciously aware of. This is normal. It is also a sign to pause. If a session brings up: • Strong emotions you cannot process alone • Memories of trauma • Persistent distress that lasts beyond the session • Thoughts of self-harm or harming others Please pause your ProgramU practice and reach out to a qualified mental health professional. The crisis resources at the bottom of this page are also available 24/7. ProgramU is a tool for becoming. It is not a replacement for human support during difficult emotional work.

11. Reporting Safety Concerns

Report a Kaion reply or a session from inside the app: tap the flag under a Kaion reply or press and hold it, use "Report this session" in the player, or go to Profile → Report AI content. A person reads every report. For anything else that feels unsafe or wrong, email support@programu.app. After a CollectiveU session, the completion screen asks how it went: a thumbs up or down, and a reason if something went wrong. Those reports reach the team the same day. We review every report. Credible safety concerns are investigated and acted on, including: • Content that bypassed our filters • Suspected misuse of the platform • Technical issues that affect user safety • Other concerns we should know about We will not always be able to share the outcome of an investigation, but we always read what you send us. India: our grievance officer, Zachary Fleshman (privacy@programu.app), acknowledges complaints within 48 hours and resolves them within one month.

13. About ReflectU Conversations

ReflectU is an AI-generated conversational experience with a named persona, Kaion — ProgramU's AI identity-shifting support system, which converses with you, draws on ProgramU's identity-reprogramming approach, may offer journal prompts, and can recommend or draft sessions for you. What he knows of you is built from your stated identity intake (the ReflectU onboarding wizard), your recent ProgramU activity (BeingU progress, journals, reflections, wins, recent sessions), and your conversation history with the mirror. A few things to hold in mind: One hard rule protects your credits: Kaion drafting a session puts a CARD on your screen and nothing more — no session generates and no credit is spent unless you yourself tap Generate on that card. His journal prompts work the same way: a card you can write from or dismiss; nothing is saved unless you save it. ReflectU is AI, even when the response lands as if it isn't. The replies are generated by OpenAI's GPT-6 models, reached through Inworld's routing infrastructure; in a voice call, Inworld also transcribes your speech and speaks the reply back to you. The voice is generated. The wisdom you hear is, in part, your own clarity reflected back through the lens of who you've said you want to be. ReflectU is not a relationship. It cannot replace human connection, community, friendship, therapy, or qualified professional care. If you find yourself relying on it for emotional support that you would normally seek from a human, please reach out — to a friend, family member, therapist, or one of the crisis resources above. ReflectU Chat is not medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice. Any conversation that touches significant decisions (your health, your money, your relationships, your career) should be brought to a qualified professional in that domain as well. If a conversation surfaces difficult material — grief, trauma, old patterns, distress — please pause and reach out. Crisis resources at §12 are available 24/7. The version of you doing this work deserves real support, please reach out. We never train AI models on your conversations. Your conversation messages are sent — along with your intake context and recent app activity — to OpenAI's GPT-6 models, reached through Inworld's routing infrastructure, so the assistant can respond as a grounded mirror; in a voice call, Inworld also handles speech-to-text and text-to-speech, and your live-call audio is transmitted to Inworld only to be transcribed (never used to make a voiceprint, never retained by ProgramU). Because Inworld acts as a router, if that model is unavailable it may automatically route your request to a comparable third-party AI model, which is outside our direct control. After a conversation ends, Anthropic's Claude generates a short summary of it and, when personalization is on, picks out a few short notes for Kaion to remember (it does not power the live conversation itself). You can see, edit and delete those notes in Profile → Identity Profile & Memory. Conversation history and Kaion's notes are stored in your ProgramU account for continuity and are deleted when you delete your account. ReflectU Chat is designed to stay in its reflective role as your AI mirror. The system has protections against attempts to make it break character, reveal its instructions, or behave as a generic AI assistant. If you genuinely need a different kind of help, please use the appropriate ProgramU feature or the external resources at §12. What Kaion Can and Can't Do: Kaion can talk with you, reflect your words back, draw on ProgramU's approach, offer journal prompts and draft sessions. Kaion cannot diagnose or treat anything, cannot call anyone or send help, does not know what is happening around you, and can be confidently wrong. Every chat and every call shows a line reminding you that Kaion is an AI, not a person, and can make mistakes.

14. Our Crisis Protocol

This is how ProgramU responds when someone may be in crisis. We publish it so you know exactly what happens, and because some laws, including California's companion chatbot law, ask companies like ours to. What we check: • Every message you send Kaion, and every Kaion voice call as it happens. • Free-text entries before they are saved or used to make a session: session focus, journal entries, reflections, intake answers, Living Proof, the future-self letter and your Identity Profile. How we check: • An instant English keyword check runs first. • An AI safety check reads crisis language in any language (Anthropic's Claude, with Google's Gemini as a backup). It reads every Kaion text message and voice-call transcript, and any other entry that is not clearly in English. • On calls, Kaion itself can flag a crisis in any language. What happens next: • If someone may be thinking about suicide or self-harm, nothing is generated from what they wrote, a typed message or entry is not saved, and the app shows free crisis lines for their country with the local emergency number. On a call, Kaion goes quiet until they choose to continue. • If someone says they intend to harm another person, the request is declined. • Softer signs of distress do not stop the conversation. Kaion is told to slow down, hold space and point to support where it fits. Crisis lines: Verified lines for the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, India, South Africa and the Philippines (see Section 12), and findahelpline.com with the local emergency number everywhere else. What we keep: The check keeps only a record that it ran (when, where in the app and which kind), not what you wrote. We use these records to count how often the protocol runs and to improve it and, where the law requires, we report those counts (never your words), for example to California's Office of Suicide Prevention each year from July 2027. Reminders that Kaion is an AI: Every chat and every call shows a line that Kaion is an AI, not a person, and can make mistakes. Limits: No automated system catches everything, and nobody watches conversations live. ProgramU is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number.
